- _i_m_a_p_d is a server which supports the IIMMAAPP44rreevv11 remote mail
- access protocol as documented in RFC-2060. _i_m_a_p_d is
- invoked by the internet server (see _i_n_e_t_d(8)), normally
- for requests to connect to the IIMMAAPP port as indicated by
- the _/_e_t_c_/_s_e_r_v_i_c_e_s file (see _s_e_r_v_i_c_e_s(5)). Normally, this
- is port 143.

- _i_m_a_p_d can also be accessed via _r_s_h(1C) by many Unix-based
- clients. To do this, the _i_m_a_p_d binary must have a link to
- _/_e_t_c_/_r_i_m_a_p_d since this is where this software expects it
- to be located.
